A Glimpse at What it Used to Be Like

Living in Germany during COVID has been hard. There are so many rules and stores haven't been open in months and months. I haven't been inside a restaurant since September. We aren't even supposed to leave our city. Hotels have been closed all over Germany along with the borders. We aren't allowed congregational singing at church and we have to get a covid test to get a hair cut. It's been hard seeing everyone in the U.S. travel everywhere and some states going back to normal. While I see both sides of the spectrum... and I'm not going to say what I agree and disagree with... the reality is that people are really getting very restless here with all of the restrictions. Some stores are even opening under the radar hoping to not get caught.

Thankfully, the Army was able to hold a bazaar on base this last weekend and it gave everyone a little joy being around people and shopping! There were only so many allowed in at a time. I was so happy it wasn't canceled as everything else has been since we've moved here. So even though things are FAR from going back to normal, we had a little bit of fun last weekend. Embry and I rode the duty bus to the base it was on one day and then Danny and I went back the next day sans kids. There were around 70 vendors from countries around Europe. I definitely had some fun purchases. The first 2 pics are just interesting things I liked but didn't buy. The others were a few that I grabbed up!

I absolutely loved this nativity scene, but there was no way I was going to pay 589 euro!
I found a Polish pottery pattern that I loved! These pieces are handmade and straight from Poland.

I loved this charcuterie board. Danny put some olive oil on it when we got home to make it shine.

I also grabbed up some cannolis from an Italian vendor.
Danny also may have bought me a Mother's Day gift at the bazaar and I purchased a few things to give as gifts. Those are not pictured :).
