My New Bench
Danny made me this adorable bench. After putting it all together, he stained it, and then painted over that with a milk paint. After he let it dry, he distressed it ever so slightly. It fills an empty spot in my living room perfectly!
I then made a cushion for it. It was harder than I thought. The corners were the hardest. I made sure to add straps to this so it didn't constantly slide off of the bench. I also wanted to add a zipper, so I could pull off the cover to wash it. Unfortunately, I bought the wrong zipper--it was a jacket zipper--but I didn't want to return it so I made it work.
Finally after wrestling with putting the zipper in and fighting with the corners, I got the foam covered by this gorgeous material! After zipping it up, I went around and pinched the edges in order to create the tuffeted look. I hand stitched all the way around both edges.
I absolutely adore this bench! I'm proud of my husband and I's teamwork!

I ordered the cushion off of foamfactory.com. I was pleased that they could cut it to the exact size you needed.
I then covered the cushion with quilted batting. Finally after wrestling with putting the zipper in and fighting with the corners, I got the foam covered by this gorgeous material!
