Venice and Burano, Italy (Day 3 and 4)

The speed train to Venice was nice and spacious! I was so glad not to be driving.

Venice and Burano were by far my favorite places on the whole Italy trip. I love the beauty and uniqueness of these two places. I'm not sure the significance of the masks, but they were everywhere (pic below).

St. Mark's Basilica was so beautiful.

This is the bridge of sighs, because prisoners would walk across this bridge with one last glance of Venice and sigh.

Pizza for days!

I picked the American hotel (ha), and was pleasantly surprised. It was so nice and the boys voted that it was their favorite on the trip. Venice is pretty expensive so we were glad to pay for only two nights, though!

This is the main canal.

It was so beautiful.
There were stores with random and strange things---like this chair store.

We had a lot of gelato, of course!

This tower was used in SpiderMan: Far From Home.

On the first evening there we took a gondola boat ride. It was incredibly relaxing and we got to see some places that we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

We went to a fabulous pizza place, Taverna San Trovaso (recommended by the hotel), and the kids tried tiramisu for the first time.

This bridge was used in SpiderMan: Far From Home as well.

There was lots of chocolate and candy shops.

We decided to take a ferry to Burano (known for making lace) the next day. The colorful houses and the quaint town was my top thing on this whole trip. I loved it!

Here are the swans we fed at lunchtime.

We passed by this on the way back to Venice.
