Passing the Time...

While we wait in a hotel for 5 weeks for our house, we have passed the time with an outing every day! Here are a few snapshots on some of what we have done! The first picture was in an Asian market. We were sooooo excited to find C.C. Lemon--the drink we loved in Okinawa!
One day we drove an hour to Wilmington. The first stop was an antique store. Then we went to the boardwalk at Carolina beach. We ate there and then even bought some homemade ice-cream. We also checked out their local grocery store-Harris Teeter. I had never shopped at one before.

For those of you that know me, I hate sunscreen. I hate the feel of it. I also hate that I get sunburned easily even with it on. So when it comes to the beach, we usually go in the morning before 10am or in the evening after 5pm when we don't have to apply it. So for during the day when the kids are driving me crazy, we go to an indoor pool nearby so I don't have to deal with sunscreen. Plus, I can work on swimming skills with the kids. As of late, Embry is excited that she finally figured out how to swim by herself with her life vest on! This has been incredibly helpful that I don't have to stay by her side and I can work with the boys.

Evan now has his own ID card! He could have gotten it when he was 10, but I never got around to it. Plus Danny had to be there to do it.
Evan had gotten a botched haircut last weekend, so I took him to a salon to get it fixed. He loved his special treatment there...and the fact that they washed his hair! He says he definitely wants to keep going to the salon and not the barbershop on base!

Our storage unit is getting fuller and fuller. It's not helping that I keep shopping because we need to get out of the hotel daily. We need to move into our house quickly, before I buy anything more! I bought this table for $20, though---that's a great deal!---it's for a future project that I hope to get done in the next month or two--depending on how quickly we unpack and get to Danny's woodworking tools! Evan and I have really enjoyed "scavenging" at thrift stores and have purchased a lot of books too!
Embry has tried out a couple of gymnastics places here. She always loves her gymnastics!

This barbie was a find at a thrift store. $0.25 sure made this little girl happy! Her favorite thing to do lately is dress and change outfits on barbies.
