Baby Shower Sweetness
I loved throwing a baby shower this weekend for a friend. From a sugar scrub to homemade strawberry frosting, I enjoyed coming up with every detail of this shower. I wanted fresh flowers so I found a flower shop super close to my home. I brought in my white pitcher, a metal tub, and a blue/green mason jar. I told them the colors I wanted and they came up with these beautiful arrangements! I was so pleased with how they turned out.
My favorite part of the shower was getting to set up the table. I love pulling out all of my dishes and putting them to good use!
The cupcakes were made by me, and the strawberry yogurt pretzels were ordered online from the Nut House. The cupcakes were vanilla (with a little bit of yogurt in them to make them more moist) and the frosting was made with a puree of fresh strawberries.
A couple of friends helped me out with food, too. Between 3 of us, we made pizza, chicken salad, egg/bacon/spinach quiche, and yogurt/granola cups. It was all delicious!
My favorite part of the shower were these gorgeous cookies. I found a lady nearby that makes them out of her home. She made a dozen raspberry ones and a dozen vanilla ones. Her artwork on the cookies was superb! She even wrapped them individually for freshness. I was so impressed with how beautiful they were that I didn't even want to eat one! They were perfect timing for cherry blossom season too!
Every shower needs a mimosa bar!
We also had a bow making table. I was excited to see how creative some of the girls were. They turned out really cute for the new baby!
And lastly, I made a homemade sugar scrub found on pinterest. It was so easy to make with organic coconut oil, sugar, and raspberry & lemon extract. My favorite part was the tags I made in photoshop. I then punched them out with my scalloped circle punch.
