Classroom Happenings
Last week, I took my class to the STEM lab and the GE teacher put together centers that were so much fun! We had just learned about the 5 senses, so she took the book, Horton Hears a Who and created fun projects. First they had to smell out different scents inside balloons. I was surprised on how well you could smell them through the latex. Another station, was them listening at the laptops different sounds and trying to come up with what they are. At yet another one, they had to use their vision to describe different objects using a magnifying glass and good adjectives! Lastly, they made Horton ears to wear on their heads. It was a blast!
We recently have been learning about taking care of our Earth. We went on a field trip to the Sanitation Facility nearby, we made a Science Fair project that led us to create compost piles, we did a sorting activity so they can help their parents at home with the recycling, and lastly they wrote about the importance of recycling.
