Hawaii

We traveled to Oahu in February and enjoyed every minute of this island!
Our first stop was to see Pearl Harbor. It was surreal being there. The memorial was a somber experience. At the memorial, we saw oil still coming up from the USS Arizona.

We stayed at the Hilton Village in Honolulu.

On the 2nd day, we headed to Diamond Head (volcano) and hiked up to the top. It was a good workout.

We loved Goofy cafe! So yummy!

One day, we took a tour of the west, north and east side of the island. We started off the day with snorkeling and saw sea turtles! We then went to the Dole Plantation and enjoyed pineapple whip. After that, we headed to the north shore and watched the surfers, saw more sea turtles, and enjoyed poke bowls at the food trucks. Driving down the east side, we had spectacular views and had a couple of stops. One was to buy Kona coffee (not native to Oahu, but the best!).

There are chickens EVERYWHERE! One lady said that chickens are Hawaii’s feral cats.

One morning, Danny and I took an Uber to the National Cemetery and found a cousin that died in the Korean War.

We made sure to spend time at the beach and snorkeling!

On our last night there, we attended a luau at the military hotel nearby. What a great experience!
