Making My First Baby Blanket!
Kara's baby shower was coming up and I really wanted to dive head-first in and make her new lil' one a baby blanket. I listened carefully when Kara talked about her nursery, so I knew kind of what colors/theme I should do.
I had SO MUCH FUN making this! It wasn't too difficult. The more tedious part was ordering coordinating material and cutting all of the squares. The rest went fairly quickly.
After cutting 5 inch squares, I laid them out in the pattern I wanted. Next, I sewed each square together to make a row. Next, I ironed all of the seams down, and then sewed the rows together.

After ironing yet again, I sewed the minky dot fabric inside out with the material inside out leaving a 3 inch gap so I could inside it out when I was done. Lastly I did another stitch around the outside. I love how it turned out! I hope Kara and her baby boy love it too!
