Portugal

We hired a driver to take us into Lisbon, Portugal. Along the way, we tried some treats. We also saw cork trees and olive trees all along our route.

Our driver took us to the big Jesus (very similar to the one in Brazil) for beautiful views of Lisbon. We never knew how much it would resemble San Francisco!

There were trams and a funicular to get people up and down the hills.

This elevator was built to take people up to the next level of the city to avoid the hills.

We loved being able to see the ocean again.

The next day we took a 4 hour tour of the city on tuktuk. We were so grateful for this, because it was so HOT and the city is very hilly. Being driven around was the best way to go!

I couldn't get enough of all of the beautiful tile on the buildings. I took a LOT of pictures.

We had to try the Pastel de Belem pastries while in Lisbon. They were really yummy!

This was a raccoon from a distance created by trash.
Belem Tower

There were pineapples everywhere to have a pina colada.
The Padrao dos Descobrimentos monument.

More tile!

We then hopped on the train and headed to our last destination of Porto, Portugal. This is where Port wine comes from. Porto became my favorite city on this trip. The weather wasn't too hot, either!

More tile!
There was even a textured tile!

This book store is rated the most beautiful in the world. Supposedly, J.K. Rowling was a customer here and may have got some of her ideas from the book store. Embry purchased a copy of Wizard of Oz.

Oh the tile!

Danny and I had a date night out and enjoyed some Mexican food on our last night in Portugal. It didn't taste very Mexican, but it was still pretty good.
Our 10 day trip to Spain and Portugal was fantastic! We enjoyed all that we saw and we now need to recoup by laying around at home!
