Strasbourg, France

On Veteran's Day, we took the train to Strasbourg, France. It was a very cold and an incredibly foggy day. The fog never lifted the entire time. Even with the chill in the air and the eerie fog, Strasbourg was an absolute beautiful city. Eli did the research on the city and was our tour guide. He told us where to go and even had the history of a couple of things. Plus, he even had a coffee shop and restaurant planned out for us. I think I might have him do this more often! We first headed towards the cathedral and we got to see everyone beginning to decorate for the Christmas market that opens on November 26th.

I thought their subway looked neat.

Here was our first Christmas tree sighting!

The kids were excited to be in France for the first time!

The cathedral looked cool in the fog.

We got to hear some Mongolian music.
The cathedral was beautiful, but wasn't quite yet open for the public. We were going to come back later in the day.
I bought Embry this new hat.

We then walked towards Petite France to find the restaurant Eli wanted us to eat at. Unfortunately, it was closed but we found another one close by to try some traditional foods.

This was called a Flammekueche.

They act like they love each other sometimes.

We then headed inside the cathedral.

This is the most beautiful organ that I have ever seen.

They had an astronomical clock inside the cathedral.
While Embry and I went looking at the shops around the cathedral, Danny took Eli and Evan up the tower (Eli was determined to do this). He got some really neat, and foggy photos.

There was a guy making bubbles out of this cool contraption and Embry got a kick out of it.

We then headed back towards Petite France (my favorite spot in the city).

This is a glass boat tour that you can take.

Evan was a tad excited for some churros, while we were more excited for something warm to drink.
It was interesting to see how cheese comes. These round circles were crazy big!

To end the evening, we walked to the Ponts Couverts de Strasbourg to check out the 3 towers and the gorgeous bridge.

We saw a meat truck as we were walking to the train station.
The train station looked really neat at night. It was a fun day and we were now ready for our 1 1/2 hour train ride to our beds.
