Downtown Stuttgart

We decided to explore our new home of Stuttgart yesterday. First, we went and checked out a base that we may live on. Housing hasn't said where we are going to live yet, but they have told us it will be either here, or one other place. The views at this base are beautiful! It overlooks the city and is breathtaking.
We then hopped on a bus that took us down to be transferred to the Ubahn (train system).

I'm not quite sure why they look so unhappy? Maybe it is because I am taking a picture on public transport and publicly embarrassing them...who knows ;).

It took us only 10-15 minutes to get to downtown. We hopped off at the main square downtown where the palace is and some other beautifully architectural buildings. There was also some great shopping and yummy food! It truly was a gorgeous place!

I loved seeing people playing chess and..
Drawing art (if you look closely, people were putting money on the country flag that they were from)...

and playing music.
Here is the "newer" palace.

I didn't get a very good picture, but the older palace was over in this direction.

Spiked chains
I was fully expecting to have to pay for bathrooms since I learned on our trip to Paris about bathrooms not being free, but I wasn't expecting this!
TK Max?!! I thought this was funny. It is just like TJ Max. I'm not sure of why they had to name it differently.

Our lunch

Haribo Gummies! We love finding all of the ones we have never seen before and then buy them to eat...
