My 37th Birthday!
I have been SO EXHAUSTED. This school year has been tough on me. I create most of my lesson plans (we only have math curriculum), plus the "normal teacher work". This equates to most weekends spending anywhere from a half of a day to 2 days working on school work instead of enjoying the weekend. I also drive my kids to and from swim team 3 times a week, and I have ALL IEP meetings and staff meetings after school (not during the day like my last 4 schools). Because of the hurricane (we were out of school for 6 weeks), we have had no breaks except 3 days for Spring break coming up in April. Ya'll, I needed a break. BAD. I took a personal day for my birthday and I planned to do a puzzle. THAT'S IT. It was the best day ever. I stayed in my pjs all day and did this gorgeous puzzle. I loved every minute of it. Danny also sent me flowers, Hannah sent me Shari's Berries, and Danny got me an ice cream cake. We tried out a restaurant called "Ducks"--not really a fan--and stopped by Barnes and Noble for a few minutes. This day might sound boring to some, but it was the best day I've had this year. I hadn't been able to relax since Christmas.
Embry enjoyed my birthday treat, too!!
To top it off, Gena took me out to beautiful Beaufort, NC the next day. We went on a bike culinary tour through the cute town. I had such a wonderful time eating at different restaurants, tasting olive oils, wine tasting, and checking out the historic houses of the town. It was a fantastic birthday gift and I will never forget the wonderful memory of that day.
I even tried an oyster (Rockefeller style) that day!
