Florence Aftermath

We were evacuated for almost two weeks. Once we got back, it was so good to be home, but Camp Lejeune and surrounding areas were a mess. A lot of these pictures were saved from neighbors on my street.
This was highway 40 after the hurricane.
This was the water in our backyard.
There were branches and trees down everywhere on our street.
A couple of vehicles were hit by trees as well.

They were out of power for a long time. The power was back on by the time we got home, though. We had to throw everything away in our fridge and in our deep freezer.

We sat on this dock/pier a week before the hurricane.

This poor family lost pretty much everything. Thankfully the family was safe because they weren't home. This family and a couple of others had to move out.

This small hole in our garage roof caused the whole ceiling to be drenched and leak down on our car. Tiny pieces of drywall started to fall, but still held. We were so grateful that this didn't turn into the drywall completely falling. Once we got home, Danny tarped this hole to block any future rain until housing has a chance to come fix it.

Evan had some leaking in his room and it started to mold. Danny found those spots and patched them, too. We are so blessed that this is all that happened. We had so many neighbors that had awful damage and mold.

As you can see in the above picture our house looks so dirty, now. Thanks, Florence!

Our friends came and cleaned up all of the big sticks in our yard before we got home! Here are before and after pics!

The boys (with their friends) raked and cleaned up our backyard.

After we got home, with the help of neighbors, we raked our whole yard and they mowed it for us. It looks so nice, now! It was so good seeing neighbors helping one another.
