Moving in Day!!!!
After waiting all summer to move into our house by spending countless hours traveling, in hotels, and trying to entertain the kids in a new state, we got to move into our new home! The afternoon we moved in, we had internet installed and we picked up Evan's new bed. The next morning, our stuff arrived! I thought I had purged so much, but to my dismay, the stuff wouldn't stop coming in. It seems like with every move, we gain a 1000 more pounds. As the guys showed up, I was wondering only about one thing. I was curious how our table that Danny had made-how it fared on the trip. I was hoping and praying that there were no broken pieces or dings. It is incredibly heavy and they had decided not to take the legs off of it when they loaded it. My worry had increased when I was told that the movers at our old house took our things to a storage place in VA, unloaded there, reloaded and took our stuff to NC, unloaded there, reloaded and brought it to our new house. That was a lot of handling of my favorite piece of furniture! See the light blue truck in the 2nd picture? The ONLY thing on that truck was our table!!! See the 3rd picture? Our table was the first thing carried into the house! Nothing was broken on it! It was beautiful!
After they finished unloading everything, we spent the next 3 days and nights unpacking and decorating. It was exhausting, but we wanted it done!
The house is old and has no microwave. The oven hood seems to be from the 70s. It was so gross! After the movers left, Danny tore it out and installed an electrical outlet in the cabinets above. He then bought a microwave and installed it above the stove. It looks SOOO much better!
