New Duty Station = New Home

I love the cute base housing (for the most part ;)!

This open area and playground in front of our house has been amazing.  I am so grateful for the space for my boys to run around.  They sit on the benches and trade Pokemon, they play baseball or soccer on the field, they run around the playground equipment playing laser tag, etc.  It has been a special blessing!

So I painted the mirror in this photo to bring out more creams in the living room.  I didn't want the dark couches to darken the room.
I absolutely love our new couches.  I was worried they would look too "manly", but the curved arm rests and the girly pillows helped soften the look.  They are incredibly comfortable too.  I had fallen in love with ivory-colored couches and on a whim bought these instead---this eased my mind with kids and couches---I could have seen myself not even letting the kids sit on the couches if I would have gone with the ivory ones.

This scripture verse goes perfectly with our military life!
This is where I'll add a bench that Danny plans on making me.
I like our new coffee table.  Danny was going to make us one, but we saw this baby at the furniture store and snagged it up instead.  Don't worry--I have other things up my sleeve for Danny to make!
I love how the end tables turned out that Danny made.  The other one sits perfectly between the two couches.

"Great Room" is what this was called.  It was such a weird space to fill.  I added a reading nook in so it didn't look so empty.  If we were going to live here a long time, I would invest in a large rectangular rug to go under the dining room table to almost create it's own room.
...and this gorgeous table, people, was RUINED in the move.  I was sooo upset.  It's covered by our table pad here, but it has some bad water damage on it.  Why was there water dripping on our stuff inside a moving truck?!!  We have someone coming out to assess it in the next 30 days.  ...Such a sad, sad day when we found this.  It is not fixable since it is swollen from the water all over one end and  in other spots..and it is also laminate wood.  This is also why we have yet to take the blue moving stickers off of it in case they need to know what numbers the chairs/table was.  We had only had it for 3 years.
My reading nook.  The kids are not allowed to sit on these chairs without the blanket fully covering it..haha!

Danny made this grey arrow for above the stove in the last house, and I love how it looks here in this house.
I bought new frames.  The old ones were all dark wood like the buffet, and I wanted my end result to have a light looking living space...and I didn't want to paint the buffet (at least not THIS year :), so all of the added little details needed to be lightly colored.  I also painted the candlesticks shown in this picture.  They were dark (almost black) as well.

I knew the high counter in the kitchen was going to be a place where we would be really tempted to dump our stuff (like the mail)...so I had to find a solution to this.  I found this cute mail hanger thingy at Hobby Lobby and we have already used it regularly as you can see!

I was really worried that my Market Fresh sign wouldn't fit in our new house.  I definitely had my fingers crossed on this one.  I'm sooo glad it fit like a glove!

Our bedroom.  I got this new bedspread back in Missouri awhile back.

I love this sign, especially since the love chapter was read at our wedding.

Okinawan sea glass, shells, and sand dollar.

Evan's updated "industrial" room.  He will have tall gym lockers that will sit to the right of this picture.  They have not come in yet.

I found this fan at Goodwill.  I was so excited to find one that fits his decor since he is obsessed with having a fan throughout the summer months.
I love this lamp that I found at the store At Home.
He was very adamant have a push pin board, and really wanted this because it had a chalkboard too!
I kept his baby picture and his flag from his old decorations.
 New laundry hamper
Trash can from IKEA to hold his stuffed animals
It was fun to pull out all of Eli's old decorations.  We hadn't used these in the last 3  years.  I had Danny add the baskets above his bed as a focal point in his "Vintage Sports"-themed room.  I also ordered a cream-colored pillow with a number 7 on it to add to the throw pillows.

Embry's room still needs a headboard.  I am on the lookout daily on yard sale pages for an iron or a plush one.  I also just bought a huge provincial white dresser that I plan on repainting and adding to her room to replace the dark small one.
I knew someday her kitchen might have to be in her bedroom.  I'm so glad I had Danny paint it to match her room, and I made the little curtains/apron/oven mits to match too!

She loves her little secret reading corner (at least this is what I call it...when she's driving me crazy I tell her to go read a book in her cozy corner and she gets all excited...score one point for Mama!)
